Glendora is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and is knowns as the “Pride of the Foothills.” Glendora was like most cities in the region and started out as an agricultural area that was disconnected from the rest of Southern California and the country until the Santa Fe Railroad was built. Glendora was incorporated in 1911. In the past, Glendora was home to many military academies which have since become churches or schools.
